We see Ben, and then Mike, walking about campus, each minding his own business, when off-camera voices recognize them, and then begin to beleaguer them. Growing increasingly nervous, they try to escape.

Reporters armed with microphones assault Mike and Ben separately and demand to know why their show is going steadily downhill.

The former presidential hopeful grants a private interview to Ben and the writing crew. He fails to respond to any question with a lucid response.

By means of cunning ruses, the boys are able to escape the prying reporters.

Finding Leah:

Realizing that it has been some weeks since Leah won the date with the boys and they have yet to hear from her, the two would-be Romeos set off in search of Leah, an explanation and, if possible, some nookie.

Free of their pursuers, the hosts are just in time for a meeting with the Big Boss. Big Boss informs them that they are not funny and will have to go off on a quest to find the elusive Key to Comedy.

We follow the exploits of the plucky, charming, everyman of "The Mike and Ben Show." His high spirits dwindle, however, as his roommate, nurse, producer, co-host, new roommate, girlfriend, and a total stranger all dump on him.

In pursuit of the Key to Comedy, the hosts find themselves in a scary bad place. The rising tension quickly mounts to a "Blair Witch Project" parody but the tension goes bust when they discover nothing more threatening than the Big Boss diddling himself.

A dating-game type quiz show in which three pairs of bachelors respond to questions from a coquettish bachelorette, competing over the privilege of having a menage a somethin' with her.

Interview with Bill Bradley concluded:

Fed up with the Senator's puzzling and banal remarks, one writer tells him off good and proper, but the quick-witted statesmen puts this young man in his place and the interview draws to a close.

Hosting sequence #6:

Mike finds the Key to Comedy. He shows it to Ben, but they refrain from stating exactly what it is: "It's a cliff hanger ending for our show!" cries Mike with childlike wonder.

Closing credits:

The key attempts to weasel away from Mike and Ben and they chase after it. Also, crack interviewer Sean Hart discovers the truth about John McCain's secret Jedi identity. Shanghai Ped logo over nothing.
