Hey everyone,
We need most of you for the Friday 2pm
filming, which is pretty much just a Dodgeball game (but not
your average Dodgeball game). Please show up. If
you've got question marks by your name, let me know if you
can or cannot make it (267-7669). As usual, meet at the
radio station -- however, if you're there and you don't see
the director/writer around, please just stick around for a
little bit because we could be at the Daily Bruin getting
the equipment and such (we have new check-out policies now.)
Also, remember that we meet in Sproul Entertainment Center
on monday nights at 10pm to watch the
show.

Hello all,
Well it's 7:00 right now, and the show's pretty much ready
to go. I
encountered a SHITLOAD of bugs over the course of the last
24 hours putting
this together, which has put me in a less than stellar mood,
so this Email is
designed to eliminate some of these bugs for the future.
1. This idea that we have a lot of hard drive space is a
myth, we need to
pretend like it's the old days for a reason. USE THE COMPILE
TAPE. When
you're done with a bit, dump it down to DV tape like we used
to, after a
couple of writers and myself have seen it, ERASE ALL OF YOUR
FILES.
THE ABOVE NEEDS TO HAPPEN FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:
-because the hard drive has been maxing
out, people are havign problems
saving stuff on to the hard drive. As a result, things are
getting deleted by
people who aren't checking, and as a result we end up having
problems like
missing sound clips, etc. This is unneccessary, get rid of
your shit when
it's been approved.
-When we run things off of the computer
in to the master time line, this
unexplainable "off sync" problem occurs. Basically, there
are moments when
people's mouths are a little off of the vocals. I think I
cured it for this
show, but I can't tell because my eyesight is really bad
with this little DV
screen. However, this problem is cured when I'm able to log
and capture a
file straight off the compile tape.
SO PUT YOUR BITS ON A COMPILE TAPE, and then erase your shit
(after a couple
people have seen it)
2. PLEASE try and avoid still screens.
3. CD's are disappearing left and right, please try and keep
thigns organized
in here. Some of the hosting music got mysteriously erased,
so when I tried
to replace it last night, I couldn't find the damn CD's, and
went through
this huge ordeal to get facsimile mp3's.
4. I need a hug.
That is all,
-Dipshit

Guys,
Don't spend your Friday afternoon wasting away in
your regular wasting away spot and come join Faze, Sean
Mount, George, Ben Feller, me & Roberta for the
dodge-balling-ist afternoon ever.
Don't "DODGE" this opportunity to play dodgeball in the quad
in front of Powell, as well as indulge Tim's attempt at
'concept humor'.
We're meeting at 2:00 at the radio station, FYI.

Banquet
Received: 5.16.00 11:57 PM
Hey guys,
I'm planning on setting up a Mike and Ben end of the year
awards banquet. In
this we'll be giving out all sorts of serious and fun
awards, and it'll be a
good way to send off the first ever year of UCLAtv.
YOU'RE ALL GOING. No, you don't have a choice. If you don't,
you'll be
expected to supply a substitute asian girl in your place
(and in the case of
Crystal, only one particular girl will suffice).
SO, to make sure you all go, I have a couple date
questions. It seems
Thursday nights are the best, so would you rather have it
during 9th or 10th
week. I don't when the big frat parties and final papers
are, so I'm leaving
it up to you. PLEASE EMAIL ME YOUR PREFERENCE for a date,
whichever gets the
most will win out. I'm EXPECTING EVERYONE WILL GO, SO HELP
ME OUT HERE.
9th week, Thursday, June 1?
or
10th week, Thursday, June 8?
Let me know ASAP, i need to make reservations by the end of
the week.

Team,
Does anybody watch
the shows that air Tues-Thus besides me? Mondays are a busy
day for me, so I usually I don't tape the episodes that air
until Tues, Wed, or even Thus (I program my VCR because I'm
out from 7-11 on these nights). The last two weeks, I came
back and checked the tape to find it blank. I recorded it on
more than one night, and while one of these nights may
have been error on my part, I don't think they all are.
Tonight, I know for a fact the show started 13 minutes
late, and even then it began by fast forwarding through
half of Price's bit, and the sound cut in and out during
Fudgina.
Am I the only one
experiencing these problems? I set my VCR to record episodes
1-3 and it didn't give me a lick of trouble. If other
people don't know what I'm talking about, I'll shut up,
but if Riz is falling down AGAIN I don't want to
let him get away with it.

Myles,
If I were you I'd forward your previous
email to Riz and then ask
him to resign or seriously change his act. The only reason
the show came
on at all tonight is because I called Tim and told him that
it wasn't on
and he needed to find it and forward through hall riot, etc.
I heard the
sound problems too. Riz, meanwhile, was out on a
date(??).
Also, because our shows are unpredictable
as far as airing, it gives
us that much more clout to have the marathon during finals
week belong
to Mike and Ben, so we can tape stuff from start to finish.
As far as
I'm concerned, Riz needs to do this, or I'll kill him.

i too got problems with
show. it not as good as i hope. lets burn
something...

The most diggity of
them all!
This e-mail is about the
date for the banquet. I'd like to tell you either week
will be fine, but there are reasons why I don't. It
could end up that there are an even number of votes for each
week, and my decision will be (I know it will be) the
tie-breaker. I don't want it to come down to
that. So, I'll have to go for 10th week, June 8.
That's about it.

Hello again,
The whole reason that the sping sing footage didn't air was
because it was
edited on the mainline computer and I had no idea how to
transfer. So here
you go in case yo run in to the same problem.
1. go to "chooser" from the Apple menu, click on "Apple
share," select the
UCLAtv drive.
2. The login is UCLAtv, the password is rizwank
3. Another drive will show up on the desktop, you can access
stuff that way

Team--
Please remember to
bring in stuff that Mike and Ben can bequeath to other
people. I will rustle up a frisbee and some shirts--
that's what we're looking for, valueless stuff, altho I will
get it back to you. Textbooks? Spoons? Posters of bands that
are embarrassingly out of date? All that stuff would be
good.
Bring it into the
editing room and put it in the bottom of the basket, the one
against the far wall, to your left as you walk
in.
Thank
you!
-M.
P.S. Roberta, can
you check out for tomorrow the handheld mic and the light on
the camera? I won't need it in the daytime, but I will at
night. Thank you.

oops, sorry.
Ya know, after all that, it
might be worth my while to read about the real
Greg's
Return episode.
On second thought, just
take me to the
top of the page.
