RIP Mike and Ben

[Price's remarks are large, red and in Italic brackets, like this.]

Originally aired Monday, April 17th.

Uh-Oh!:

"The Mike & Ben Show" makes its dubious comeback with this homage to a certain milky bodily fluid.

FeaturingMike Pesses, Eric Fagundes, Ben Feller, Ben Larson, Sean Mount, Willow Geer-Alsop

[Note clearly visible soap bottle, "Blood Fight" outtake.]

Opening credits

[This season's opening sequence is a minute shorter and without a clear plot, but strangely it's far less incoherent than Season One's.]

Hosting sequence #1:

The lads gussy themselves up for a date with Leah, the winner of last season's Valentine's Day contest.  They pick her up at Sproul Hall and her experience goes downhill from there.

Featuring: Leah Sprecher

[Note forbidden filming in the dorms. Nudity alert!]

Peaceful Protest:

A long overdue rally protesting the prime time travesty that is
Chuck Norris's career.

Featuring: Myles Nye, Greg Snyder, Sean Heckman, Joe Walcek, Jeff Parker, Justin Dunlap

A Message From the Chancellor:

UCLA's beloved Chancellor Albert Carnesale relates a few nuggets of wisdom to his student body.

Featuring: Albert Carnesale

[Apparently the Chancellor is a belligerent Muslim hobo who wanders the streets of Westwood.  He also seems to have a grave hygiene problem.]

Hosting sequence #2:

The three-way daters wander aimlessly through the streets of Santa Monica and have a rather unsatisfactory meal at the local Hooters.

Featuring: Leah Sprecher, Jeanine Marques, dogs

[Dogs!]

Sudden Student Death Syndrome:

A public service announcement warning against this dread disease, with extensive examples of the terrifying toll it can take on the studentry.

FeaturingSean Hart, Myles Nye, Roberta Brodsky, Sean Heckman, Greg Snyder, Sean Mount, Buzz Reynolds, Joe Walcek, Eric Fagundes, Jeff Parker, Justin Dunlap

[Uncle Sam wants you... to stop dying in inappropriate places.  Note inverted fountain face-plant, frightened queen.]

Heckman's Plea:

Our producer announces his intention to fight tirelessly until Michelle Kwan goes on a date with him, enlisting encouragement from other students who urge the young lady to take a chance.

FeaturingSean Heckman, Mike Pesses, Rebecca Rosenberg

[Our producer succeeds in making easily the saddest plea for a girl, ever. Note real arm sling, unauthorized ABC TV footage, Mike's cameo.]

Hosting sequence #3:

The triumvirate roams the Santa Monica Pier and "enjoyment" takes a backseat to lame small-talk and uncomfortable silences.  Ben finds time to discuss "those people who pick up trash on campus who are retarded" and a charming couple from Arizona steals the entire segment.

Featuring: Leah Sprecher, stoner guys, two darling Arizona students

[Note blatantly un-censored F-word..]

Mike & Ben Makeovers:

The gang fights off the bored blues with an afternoon of kooky make-over fun.

FeaturingBen Larson, Mike Pesses, Lawrence Givens, Sean Hart, Thor Erickson, Greg Snyder, Jessica Moss, Price Peterson, Roberta Brodsky, Kris Holcomb

2000 MB Award Winner:
Best Drag Queen:
Myles Nye

[Note busty lesbian, a bikini over boxers, ludicrous digital blurring, back hair.]

Hosting sequence #4:

Ben, Leah, and Mike get solo moments to discuss how their evening is going, like on "The Real World."  Mike and Ben drop Leah off at Sproul and go drink by themselves.

FeaturingLeah Sprecher

[Note Leah's gay-bashing, Ben's blatant flirting with a drunken man in the bathroom, Leah in the Men's room (?).]

Closing credits:

Still photographs culled from the episode's various sketches.  The lush black and white portraits are reminiscent of early Ansel Adams.
